I have used this into my Laravel Multi auth guards and here is the working video example:

Here is the code snippet and you can use that into your Laravel web.php or api.php file:

Route::group(['middleware'=>'auth:admin'], function() {
Route::prefix('admin')->group(function () {  
   Route::view('/', 'admin');
   Route::get('/appointments', 'AdminController@appointments')->name('admin.appointments');
   Route::get('/showappointments', 'AdminController@showappointments');
   
});
