Today I am making shortcode function with getting wordpress login user details.

And Now Final, here is the wordpress hook to create shortcode in wordpress and you need to add this hook into your wordpress theme’s functions.php file:

function create_short_code() {
//get user info
$user_info = wp_get_current_user();
$user_details = ‘Username: ‘ . $user_info->user_login . ““;
$user_details .= ‘User roles: ‘ . implode(‘, ‘, $user_info->roles) . ““;
$user_details .= ‘User ID: ‘ . $user_info->ID . ““;
return $user_details;
}
//Generating shortcode hook
add_shortcode(‘ShortCode’, ‘create_short_code’);

You can call this shortcode in your php template files with below code:

echo do_shortcode(‘[ShortCode]’);

You can call this shortcode in your wordpress widgets with below code:

[ShortCode]

Second important method for shortcode:

// Add this into your functions.php file:
function Short_Code( $atts, $content = “” ) {
return “<div>”.$content.”</div>”;
}
add_shortcode( ‘ShortCode’, ‘Short_Code’ );
//You can call this shortcode like below method into your wordpress dashboard editor:
